Alison Bergmann, Senator
Alison Bergmann has been a member of SWE since 2010 and has served in a wide variety of leadership roles at both the collegiate and professional levels in section, regional, and society positions. Alison received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University and her Master of Engineering Management from Duke University. After graduating from college, Alison worked at John Deere as a Design Engineer on large cross-functional projects and is currently a Supply Management Specialist for current product combines.
As President of the Valparaiso University Section, Alison demonstrated her strong leadership skills by expanding outreach activities, professional development, and mentoring programs. Alison then served as the Region H Collegiate Communications Editor, increasing blog followers by 50%. As a professional member, Alison was the Quad Cities/Muscatine Section Representative for three years and a member of the FY19 Society Integrated Marketing Advisory Board. She served as the FY18-FY19 Chair for the Society Awards and Recognition Committee, which has approximately 180 volunteers as members, coordinators, and judges.
Alison was elected as a FY20-FY22 Senator. During her first year, she worked on the Strategic Planning Sub-Team. Alison is a recipient of the 2020 SWE WE Local New ELiTE Award.
