Tricia Walker, Senator
Tricia Walker graduated from Iowa State University in 2000 with her BS in ESci- BME and from the University of Iowa with her master’s thesis in BME in 2002. She started her engineering career at Catheter and Disposables Technology, Inc. As an R&D Engineer and Engineering Supervisor, she aided in the design, development, and management of over twenty medical devices. In 2006, Tricia joined Accellent, Inc. and used her experience to aid in catheter design and medical device manufacturing. She then joined Medtronic in 2011 and is currently a Sr. Pre-Market Quality Engineering Manager for their energy and component center. She works closely with her team as they ensure the utmost quality in new product programs. Tricia’s dedication to community leadership and SWE is utterly apparent. She has served SWE in a variety of leadership roles since college, culminating in her role as Region H Governor 2016-2018. In 2007, Tricia was named as one of SWE’s New Faces of Engineering finalists and was also honored as a Distinguished New Engineer in 2009 and Emerging Leader in 2014. In her free time, Tricia enjoys spending time with her family and friends, the arts, travelling, triathlons and making a difference in her community.
